Thank you to all the Alumni who attended Saturday’s Community Service Day at The Little School! Not only did we have a great time reconnecting with you, but we got a lot of wonderful work accomplished together. The sandwich-making team indoors made a total of 311 sack lunch/dinners for the men’s homeless shelter in downtown Seattle run by Union Gospel Mission. They were absolutely thrilled to receive our donation, and distributed the food immediately to those in need — some receiving theirs as an instant dinner and others taking the sack with them on the street for sustenance at their next meal. The outdoor team threw their backs into the work, ripping out invasive blackberry bushes creeping into our play spaces and threatening to take over our open areas. The group made an impressive difference in both the “J” Slide area behind the Woods Building and the front area of the Big Field between the Admin Building and the climber. You may be shocked as I was to see the bottom of those big trees for the first time ever! There is now more room for play, and our woods are one step healthier. THANK YOU, THANK YOU one and all! We hope you enjoyed the event. Please know the impact you made on the community (both internal and external) was deeply felt and lasting. See you at our next event!
