Fundraising at TLS

As with all non profit institutions, fundraising is important to the ongoing success of The Little School and enables us to sustain and support the values of our school, including small class sizes and a rich learning environment, safe and up-to-date classroom buildings, and a campus which contributes to the children’s learning and play environment. The Little School welcomes contributions through the following fundraising programs:

  • The Annual Operating Fund is the primary fundraising program of The Little School, providing approximately 10% of the school’s operating income. The Annual Fund supplements tuition in covering actual operating costs (tuition only covers 80% of the school’s operating costs leaving a gap of approximately $2,000 per student)
  • The Auction is a fun-filled community event held each March. The event includes a Live and Silent Auction and supports the general operating budget. An additional Fund-an-Item is a significant resource for the school’s financial aid program, and Wish Lists support specific faculty/staff requests (large and small).
  • The Campus Renewal Project provides for improvement of our campus and includes the already completed classroom renovations. Future plans include construction of a new multi-purpose building for programs and community gatherings.
  • Special Gifts and Endowments include contributions from donors for specific purposes as well as support for the school’s $1.5 million endowment goal.
  • Parent Association Fundraising supports community building events, cultural performances, and educational enrichment opportunities. Programs include PCC scrip, eScrip, and a magazine drive.
  • Giving without Paying (Easy Giving) provides a way to give to The Little School through regular purchases. Programs include Box Tops for Education, Campbell’s Labels for Education and many others.

The Little School is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization that receives no public funding of any kind. Gifts to The Little School are tax-deductible. For more information, please contact the Development Office at (425) 827-4609 x112 or development@thelittleschool.org.
