  The Admissions Process

Step 1: Attend One of our Scheduled Tours

A tour of The Little School for parents is required as part of the enrollment process. Tours are held on Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m., by reservation. Thursday tours are added to the schedule starting in early winter. Tours are conducted by our Admissions Manager/Registrar and include an introduction to the campus, observation in the classrooms, a visit to the Library Learning Center, and an opportunity to have individual questions answered. The Head of School usually is available for the question and answer session. We recommend planning on two hours for a tour. The initial tour is for ADULTS ONLY, allowing parents to devote their full attention to the research required for such an important decision. Please call our Admissions Manager, Guy Fineout, at 425-827-4609 ext.102 to register for a tour.

Step 2: Submit an Application

At the conclusion of your tour, you may obtain enrollment application materials. Submission of the completed forms, with a non-refundable $75 application fee, places your child in our admissions process. If your child is currently attending school, pre-school or daycare, you will need to provide a Teacher Reference form in addition to the Application for Admission. In order to be considered in the initial applicant pool for the 2008 – 2009 school year enrollment, all paperwork and the fee must be received by The Little School by February 8, 2008.

Step 3: Admissions Considerations

The full pool of applications that we have received by February 8th will be reviewed by our Admissions team. We will then schedule times to meet with each candidate, based on anticipated openings for the coming school year. Our Application for Admission is comprehensive and, in conjunction with the Teacher Reference, provides us with important information to help assess whether or not we are likely to have an appropriate placement for your child. No single factor is paramount; we consider a host of variables including age and development, learning style, social skills and a concern for gender balance and student diversity. We also consider the match between prospective families and The Little School in the areas of philosophy and mission.

Step 4: The Admissions Decision

The Little School will mail notification of our admissions decision in late March 2008.
