Throughout The Little School's history, generous gifts from our community or parents and friends have played a significant role in building the school and helping it meet new challenges. Private gifts made possible the purchase of our campus, the construction of our two classroom buildings, and the Eleanor Siegl Learning Center. Sometimes donors are interested in contributing gifts to help meet a specific school need or goal. If you are interested in learning more about the school's current wish list or would like to make a contribution restricted to a particular area, please contact the Development Office.

The Little School Endowment ~ A Living Legacy

An endowment is comprised of money given to the school with a stipulation that the funds be permanently invested. At The Little School, income generated from our endowment supplements areas of the school's operating budget relieving pressure on tuition and fundraising.The endowment helps the school live its mission, providing opportunities to financially support values which might otherwise be more difficult to sustain without supplemental funds.

The Little School is in the enviable position of having a strong endowment. We currently have two funds:

• The Eleanor Siegl Endowment Fund allows the school to seek and support a diverse student population by supporting financial assistance.
• The Renée Motley-Colbert Faculty Endowment Fund contributes to faculty salaries, assists in supporting Professional Development, and offers The Little School opportunities to increase diversity in its faculty.

The two funds are co-invested for maximum return, but accounted for separately. Contributions to the endowment increase the value of the endowment amount, and therefore the interest upon which the school can draw. Gifts to either endowment fund may be in the form of checks or securities.These endowments not only provide important assistance to our annual budget, they help assure the school's future. Every gift is a statement of support for the value of a Little School education for children - today and in future generations.
