Faculty and Staff Transitions 2025-2026

As some of you may know, I am returning this fall from a year long sabbatical and I am feeling rejuvenated! The very first thing I did was head to Colorado with a group of my friends to hike and laugh and see some great music together. I visited my stepson in London and then my son at his study abroad in Rome, which was incredible! We ate good food and a waiter reminded him, with some vigor actually, to ‘Tell your mother you love her every single day! Do it!’ So, that was delightful. In November, my mom died, which has been harder than I expected. It has been amazing to take the time I needed to be with my sister and brother, my friends who knew her well, and be able to reorient myself to this next chapter of life. I’ve been gardening and paddle boarding, weaving, playing guitar, singing, cooking, reading…really it has been so nourishing. And? I am ready to get back to what I do best, which is working alongside children as they discover their world. I have missed my colleagues, the children and the community so I am eager to get back to it! 

I am thrilled to join The Little School community! I have been teaching in Highline Public Schools since 2004, primarily at the 2nd grade level. I love the natural curiosity, imagination, and joy that young students bring to their learning. Using an arts-integration approach to teaching, my classroom is filled with creativity, movement, collaboration, and critical thinking. At the heart of my teaching is a commitment to cultivating compassion, empathy, and inclusion so that all students feel a deep sense of safety and belonging in our classroom. After completing my Masters, I also began exploring how to leverage emerging digital tools to increase student voice and choice, and was the digital teacher-leader for my school. I am eager to get to know each student - their stories, their perspectives, their dreams! I look forward to learning and growing alongside the whole TLS community and honoring the mission and vision of the school. When not at work, I am likely baking, traveling, or enjoying musical theatre.  

I am so excited to join The Little School community as an Associate Teacher! After working for two years as a wilderness trail guide and elementary para-educator in Minnesota, I decided to continue my journey as a student and moved to Seattle to pursue my Masters in Education through the University of Washington. For the past year, I have been participating in their IslandWood program and developing my practice as an environmental educator. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of creating safe, joyful and equitable learning experiences for children. I am passionate about helping them to develop a sense of belonging in nature, foster their curiosity, and connect with themselves and their community. Outside of school, you can find me hiking, baking, knitting or curled up with a cup of tea and a good book! I look forward to continuing to teach, learn, and grow at TLS this year. I cannot wait to meet you all!

I am thrilled to join The Little School as an Associate Teacher! After graduating from university, I spent two years living abroad in Spain and The Bahamas where I taught in outdoor education and traditional schools. Working with children is a passion of mine and I can’t wait to continue my teaching journey alongside such an incredible community. I’m looking forward to a wonderful year of joy and curiosity! 

It’s a joy to be welcomed into The Little School community as an Associate Teacher! My recent years were spent teaching and growing alongside students in an art studio, building on earlier experience in Montessori and elementary school classrooms. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time climbing, practicing aikido, and exploring nature. These experiences deepened my appreciation for helping children create lasting, joyful memories. I’m looking forward to a year of laughter, meaningful conversations and shared discoveries with the incredible learners at TLS!
