The Student Support Team invites you to join them virtually for an open forum discussion during this unusual time of sheltering in place, home schooling and connecting via screens to talk about the joys and challenges of parenting. All are welcome to share, learn from each other and pass along resources and ideas. Kary Kublin (Director of Learning and Support), Julie Irvine (School Counselor) and Jenny Chiang (Learning Specialist) will be present to help facilitate discussion. We expect this will be a time to listen compassionately to each other's experiences and to offer support where we can. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 14 from 8-9 a.m. via Zoom. Please email Kary for more information or to let her know if you would be interested in joining an afternoon or evening session.
Director of Learning and Support Kary Kublin and School Counselor Julie Irvine invite you to join them for on Tuesday, March 10 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Meadows Faculty Lounge for the next monthly gathering of TLS parents/guardians who want to talk about the joys and challenges of parenting. The topic will be on parenting in the age of instant gratification and using family values to guide conversations about the giving and getting of things. Through these meetings, we hope that families will grow in their connections with each other and bring their questions and ideas to share. Email Kary for more information.
Come one, come all to the Big Future Truck Event on Saturday, February 8! From 10 a.m.-noon, we'll have a number of construction vehicles on campus, so you can get up close and learn about the equipment that is making big moves on our campus. We'll also have a food truck and lots of fun activities for everyone to enjoy. As our Turnaround will be filled with trucks and fun, parking will be available nearby at the Buchan Building and Overlake Specialty School.
If you are able to help at the event – with setup, cleanup, at the welcome tent or one of the activities tents – please email Becky.
Hope to see you there!
