Such a generous community! Together we have raised over $3.4 million for the Campaign for a Big Future. We are so grateful for this tremendous support. Because The Little School is all about community – fostering community minded students in part of our mission – let's do this together and set an example for our students with 100% participation, getting us to our goal of $4.5 million.
There is no better time to make your gift. The sooner you show your support, the sooner we can put those dollars to work. Just go to the Campaign for a Big Future giving page if you'd like to make your gift online. You can also download a pledge form and return it to Becky Dolan in the Admin Building. If you'd rather learn more about your giving options, reach out to Becky at firstname.lastname@example.org or 425-827-4609 ext. 106 to start the conversation.
More details on what this project makes possible for our students, take a look at the Big Future website.
Let's do this in Little School style – together!
Are you interested in joining with other parents at your child’s level to learn more about what’s happening in your child’s classroom mid-year and what next year might look like? Julie, Alice and Regan would love for you to join them and other TLS families to share information and answer questions about academic and social emotional growth. These coffees are also a time for us to check in about your child's experience this year and give you information about next year. Interested families will also be taken on a curated tour with a chance to observe your child’s current class and get a preview of the next grade level(s). Watch out for a grade-specific email with the time and location for each coffee event listed below:
- 1/9 – Cindy S & Alison's classes (1st grade)
- 1/16 – Jackie H & Taira's classes (kindergarten)
- 1/23 – Cindy W, Mem & Jackie L's classes (prekindergarten)
- 1/30 – Michele & Amanda's classes (2nd/3rd grade)
- 2/6 – Kristin & Mandy's classes (preschool)
- 2/13 – Heidi & Katie's classes (4th/5th grade)
Registration for the winter session of Enrichment Classes is open. The registration link to sign up for classes will be closing this Friday, January 10. More information can be found at MyTLS on the Extended Day and Enrichment page, or you can go straight to the schedule to sign up here. If you run into any issues with the link or have any questions, please email Ray Castillo.
Please spread the word about our upcoming Admissions Open House on Saturday, January 11 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Most families find their way to The Little School by hearing about it from a friend or coworker. Thank you for being such great advocates for TLS and all the amazing things that our students are doing!
A part of what makes our Open House special is volunteers from our current families. There are still a few more parent/guardian volunteers spots open to help host activities and guide prospective families through our campus scavenger hunt. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Regan.
Once Upon a Time: The Little School Celebration & Auction is coming up on Saturday, March 21, 2020. This year's event will be held at the Bellevue Marriott, and we need YOU to help make it a spectacular event.
- Go to the auction – Start making plans now to attend. Invite friends, family and colleagues to join you. Talk with other TLS families about attending as well. Let's make this a party! Tickets go on sale on January 21.
- Be an auction event partner – Promote your business or make a donation that has an impact. Check out the Partnership Opportunities for more information.
- Donate and procure items and experiences – We're looking for items that we can offer to our community to raise money for The Little School. Download a procurement form, check out the Procurement Guide and get started. The February 14 procurement deadline will be here sooner than you think!
More info about all things auction can be found in the auction newsletter that went out earlier this week. Take a look at the auction webpage or send an email to the Auction Team at email@example.com.
As we kick off the new year, please be mindful and considerate of other parents/guardians during pick-up and drop-off at the Turnaround. The Turnaround policies listed below are in place to help everyone quickly move through the line and ensure that all children stay safe throughout the process. We would also like to remind families that absolutely no parking is allowed at the Buchan Building next to TLS unless specified for a special event.
Please be prepared to help you child swiftly load and unload from your car and pay attention to the following rules:
- If you wish to walk up with your child in the morning, you must park at the church parking lot and ride the shuttle.
- Remember to slow down when pulling into and out of the Turnaround.
- Stay in your car; a TLS staff member will load/unload your child.
- Please do not have your child get out of your car without a TLS staff member present.
Thank you for your help in being respectful to our neighbors and to each other.
We've got you covered! Just follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see all the latest happenings at The Little School. You'll get exclusive posts about our specialist teachers and learn more about our classrooms and upcoming events. Be sure to share it with your friends and extended family so they don't miss out on all the cool things our students are doing.
With the weather getting a little colder and more unpredictable, it's a good time to review our communication protocol for school closure due to snow or other unforeseen circumstances. School closure decisions are typically made available by 6 a.m. each school morning. We generally follow Bellevue Public School closure and late start guidelines.
Signing up for FlashAlert offers the option to get closure notices directly to your phone via email or text. Closure notices are also placed on the TLS website, the school’s main phone line (425-827-8708) and with local TV stations. Please sign up at FlashAlert to get the alerts sent directly to your email, or download the app on your phone to receive text alerts for Android or iPhone.
